Glass Replacement Process:
Our goal is to ensure the integrity of your auto glass replacement by using the same techniques involved during the manufacturing process. We use the highest quality urethanes, primers, moldings and glass. Windshields are made of laminated glass. That means that there are actually 2 layers of glass heat-compressed with a thin layer of plastic between them. This is why when something does hit your windshield, it does not shatter.
Windshield replacements involve the newest technologies in removal tools to minimize the strain on the installer and lower the risk for potential damage to the vehicle. The process involves removing the excess urethane after the glass has been removed, clean and primer the windshield opening and run a new bead of urethane. The glass is cleaned and primed as well, then installed into your vehicle. We ask that the vehicle be allowed a dry time of 3 to 4 hours, longer if possible, and no high pressure car washes for at least 48 hours.
Doors, vents, quarters and back glasses are made of tempered glass which is designed to shatter upon impact. Our installers are experts in the removal of the interior trim to allow access to clips and bolts. They carefully remove door panels and rear hatch hinges to ensure they do not puncture or scratch any of the vehicle surfaces. These replacements are done, again, with the same integrity as the manufacturer. Our vans are equipped with generators and shop vacs to allow for glass clean-up on-site. Most installations take 45 to 60 minutes, depending on glass and vehicle type. Please view our warranties.
